The Battery
We don’t normally start with the battery but this is one of the few vaporizers on the market that has a removable 18650 battery. Swappable batteries provide longer use before charging.
This is great since it doesn’t really have the best battery life at roughly 40 to 50 minutes per full charge. Like all portable battery-operated vaporizers, how long it lasts will really depend on how use it and what temperature you like best. Higher temperatures are going to drain the battery quicker.
One battery comes in the kit but you can purchase additional 18650 2500 mAh lithium-ion batteries for swapping. You can also take extra batteries with you when you’re on the go for longer periods. It is charged with a micro-USB, which increases its portability and makes it easy to use.
It also has a glazed, black ceramic loading chamber. That’s got nothing at all to do with the battery but we love it so we’re talking about it.
Vapor Quality
The air path is isolated from the electronics and made of glass and a ceramic heating chamber for a clean, potent, pure flavour from your material. Conduction heating is pretty even with this portable and you won’t need to reopen it to stir your herbs up.
The chamber is also large enough so you can have a solo session or share with a group. It can microdose at 0.1 g or fill it with 0.4 g of dried herbs. The mouthpiece, which is smaller than previous Flowermate vapes, can get a little warm with constant use.
The vapor is also a bit warmer than their previous units. All in all though, you can expect the same good quality vapor as Flowermate’s other vaporizers.
Use and Build
The Flowermate V5 Nano heats up to temperature in about 30 seconds, which is a pretty good time for vapes in its class. It comes with a funnel that makes loading simple. You also have full temperature control with this vape.
It ranges from 40C to 230C and vibrates when it reaches temperature, when the session timer has counted down and when it is powered up or down. It is easy to use with three buttons – one for the power and two to adjust the temperature up and down.
It has a big digital display which gives you the battery life and temperature. Its shell is anodized aluminium with black glass which makes it polished and solid looking at the same time.
Discretion and Portability
The Flowermate V5 Nano is really compact (it will fit on the corner of your laptop keyboard and still give you room to type in all your ordering and delivery details for your next purchase over at the Herbalize Store).
It is not the smallest vaporizer on the market but it’s definitely easy to fit into your hand. It’s also very light at just 142 g. You will have no trouble tucking this unit into a pocket, purse or a bag. It is also discreet for when you are out and about, living your life.
The all-black everywhere also helps to keep it discreet. The glass mouthpiece is easily stored in the casing making transport easy and without concerns about breaking.
More to Know
You are not limited to dry herbs with this vaporizer. With an extract pod, you can use extracts without difficulty. The V5 Nano is easy to clean, brush the chamber out and every once in a while, clean it with a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol.
It comes with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, which is fairly standard for the industry and for portable herbal vaporizers in its class. It’s also priced at a reasonable price point, just over $125.
Conclusion
You will get a nice pure taste out of this vape and with its replaceable batteries, it is easier than ever to take on the go. It comes with only one battery though so if you’re planning on being out and about a lot, purchase another so you can take best advantage of this feature.
