The Pax Era Pro sits at just 4 inches tall. There is a control light in the center of the device which indicates battery life and temperature settings (when you shake the unit) The device vibrates slightly to let you know that you have reached your desired dose. This is perfect for users that are conscious of getting an accurate dose.

Premium Build Quality

You can really feel the difference in quality with the Pax Era Pro. The shell is constructed from anodized aluminum. This gives it a very premium feel. There are a variety of color options such as Black, Grey, Red, and Jade. The product also boasts thin slits on the side which greatly improve the airflow. Smartphone App

Pax Smart Pods

The Era Pro uses PaxSmart Pods. These are the updated version of the Pax Era pods (but don’t worry, you can still use those with the Pax Era Pro).  These pods remember your preferred temperature and dose settings. This means you no longer need to go into the app and change it each time. They also automatically set the temperature to the extractor’s recommended temperature (to the degree) so you know you are getting the intended vaping experience. What Makes it a good Vape?

There is no exposed glass or breakable components in the cartridges which already makes the Pax Era Pro superior to its competitors. On top of this, the open airflow design does not clog easily and creates big draws for larger vapor clouds. The dual-coil system creates super potent hits.

It is clear how much work has gone into designing the best possible product. The twin holes on either side of the Pax Era Pro, for example, maximize airflow with slower pulls creating thicker vapor clouds.

One of the perks of the job here at Herbalize Store is that we get to take the products home to test them out (lucky us!). We just couldn’t wait to get our hands on the Pax Era Pro. Here is the section where we become brutally honest with you. We are talking about the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Our currency is cold hard truths. 

The Good

Ease-of-use

The Pax Era Pro is possibly the easiest-to-use vaporizer on the market. All you need to do is push the pod in, hold it up to your mouth, and inhale through the mouthpiece. The Pax Era Pro does the rest for you. One slight downside is that the product does get a little hot when you use it a lot in a short period of time. 

Transparency

It is clear how important transparency is to Pax. By including all the product information in their new PaxSmart Pods (such as strain, THC/CBD content, lab results), there is a clear line of accountability which creates a level of trust that is unrivaled in the industry. 

Design

The materials and build quality are as premium as you can get. The shape and size were perfect for the pocket and we loved the attention to detail found in the logo which doubles as a battery indicator. We also think it looks pretty cool. When we whipped it out in front of our buddies, they were totally stoked.

Portability

It fits so easily in your pocket and is your perfect travel companion. Honestly, we have not come across a more portable product. It is perfect for taking on-the-go. Literally, wherever you are, you can whip it out discretely and hit that thing without anyone giving it more than a second glance. 

The Bad

Price 

The cost of the pods can be quite high depending on where you are. We also found that at $70, there doesn’t seem to be a more expensive extracts vape on the market, however, you certainly get what you pay for. The added functionality is well worth the extra investment. It’s worth mentioning that if you are planning on only ever using it at home, or with pals, you may not be getting the most bang for your buck,

Convenience 

You are limited to only using Pax Era Pods. Sometimes these are hard to find. Make sure you live in an area where there is a good selection.

Vapor Clouds

We tried a number of different Pods. Most of the time, we stuck to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature settings, however, we also dabbled with some of the hotter temperatures. What we found was that at the lower temperatures, the draw was more flavorful but didn’t produce much vapor. At higher temperatures, it was at times a little harsh but produced more vapor.

Apple App Store Ban

In November of 2019, Apple removed all vaporizer apps from its store. Whilst it is not Pax’s fault, it’s still a bit of an inconvenience since so much of the product’s functionality is accessed through the App. This ban does not affect Android users.

We should add that in response to the ban, Pax has released a Web App for Apple users to circumvent this issue. This works really well and is super easy to set up.

What can I vape with a Pax Era Pro?

The Pax Era Pro is designed to fit the PAX era pods and the new PAXSmart pods. The availability for these varies based on where you are in the US. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Pax Era Pro with anything other than Pax Era Pods or PaxSmart Pods at this time. (there are knock offs and counterfeit products that would fit, however, we certainly cannot vouch for them).

Who’s the PAX Era Pro for?

The PAX Era Pro is powerful, portable, and pricey. If you are comfortable with these things, it is for you! If you like to do things the smart way, this is probably the smartest way you can do them. It is also really impressive to have such power in such a small package. You can spice up any gathering in a matter of seconds. The Pax Era Pro is not for you if you are the kind of user who could get through a whole Pod in a couple of sessions. You will find yourself making your way through them at a rate that is not particularly cost-effective. Also, if you can’t access the pods easily, the Pax Era Pro probably isn’t for you.

Should I buy the PAX Era Pro?

If you can get your hands on the proprietary Pax Era Pods, there is no easier way to vaporize your cannabis extract. Think of something that is really convenient… yes, actually do it. Got something? Right, well we can guarantee you the Pax Era Pro is MORE convenient than that.

Is the Pax Era Pro worth it?

You won’t find anything similar to this elsewhere on the market. If you love vape pens and are looking for a top-shelf experience, this is your Rolls Royce. If you are looking to choose between the Pax Era and the Pax Era Pro, that comes down to whether the bounty of features in the Pro is appealing to you. We reckon the Pro is where it’s at.
