Infrared Sensor Temperature Control

The Switch 2 is the first e-rig we have used with an integrated IR sensor. Rather than estimating temperature from the coil, the sensor reads the insert directly, so the temperature you set is the temperature you actually dab at. In practice, this makes low-temperature sessions far more repeatable than on the original Switch.

Omnidirectional Induction Heating

Induction heating warms the insert evenly from the sidewalls and the base at the same rate. In our experience this eliminates the hot spots you get with coil-based rigs, so concentrates vaporise consistently rather than scorching at the bottom of the bucket.

20mm Quartz Insert, No Atomisers to Replace

The included 20mm quartz insert offers a 300% capacity increase over the original Switch, comfortably handling larger dabs without pooling. Because the Switch 2 uses induction rather than atomisers, there are no coils to burn out and replace, which keeps long-term running costs down. A sapphire insert is available separately for those chasing maximum flavour clarity.

Magnetic Carb Cap

The hand-blown glass carb cap attaches magnetically and rotates freely for directional airflow. We noticed it makes clearing vapour at the end of a hit noticeably easier than a loose-fitting cap, and it never rolls off the table.

Three Dynamic Heating Modes

The Switch 2 introduces three heating profiles that change how a hit develops from start to finish. After testing all three, we found each suits a distinct style of session.

Descent Mode

Descent Mode mimics a traditional torch dab by lowering the temperature at roughly 1°C per second throughout the hit. Starting hot and finishing cool preserves terpenes and avoids the harsh, burnt taste that fixed-temperature rigs can produce towards the end of a draw.

Ascent Mode

Ascent Mode gradually raises the temperature, which suits cold-start dabs. Load the insert first, start the cycle, and the flavour arrives early at low temperatures before the remaining concentrate vaporises as heat builds.

Steady Mode

Steady Mode holds a stable temperature for the full hit, actively compensating for dab size and inhalation rate. This is the profile we recommend for anyone who wants predictable, repeatable sessions.

App Control for iOS and Android

The Dr. Dabber app unlocks custom temperature profiles, hold times, session durations and light modes. It is genuinely useful rather than a gimmick; being able to save a preferred low-temperature profile and recall it with one tap is something we used constantly during testing.
